After bringing back our long running Acoustic Singer - Songwriter Open Mic we have found that we needed to add more opportunities for folks to perform. Therein lies the new 2.1 version. The owners have allowed us another hour of opening time so we can add slots.
Here are the basics of the 2.1 version.
1.) Signup will start at 6:00 PM. You must be present to get on the list.
2.) Bring your guitar and we’ll plug you in.
3.) We will provide a microphone which will have a sanitary safety cover that will be changed after each performer.
4.) Limit Two (2) Performers (singing) at a time. Singers may also have one accompanist on guitar.
5.) We will start promptly at 6:30PM. You will be allowed up to 3 songs or 15 minutes whichever comes first. Now we will have 12 slots available meaning we will finish up at around 9:30PM.
Ike has been dividing hid time for the past 15 years between playing the restaurants and bars in the Virgin Islands and here in Central Texas.
Ike has had many artists record his songs ,including local faves Paul Wilson, Brenda Freed , Trio del Rio and Terri Hendrix.
Ike plays a wide variety of originals and covers..in a variety of styles ..swing, blues, 60s..etc.
John Gilliam is Missoula Slim, a songwriter-singer from San Marcos, Texas. John got his moniker from Kent Finlay, "the Godfather of Texas songwriters," at Cheatham Street Warehouse in 2004. Missoula has been writing and performing for many years, mostly in and around Montana, Washington and Texas. He has recently surfaced at such distinguished venues as the Saxon Pub and Threadgill's in Austin, Cheatham Street Warehouse in San Marcos, and Riley's Tavern in Hunter. He writes in a variety of styles, ranging from folk and country to jazz and alternative rock. Many of his songs contain bits of his offbeat wit and wisdom. Missoula is currently performing in and around San Marcos and Austin, and serves as past president of the Austin Songwriters Group, and as a board member for the Cheatham Street Music Foundation. Missoula performs every Wednesday at the historic Cheatham Street Warehouse in San Marcos, Texas, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. His second studio album, “9”, is due for a January 15th, 2017 release, and features the single “Neon Nights” with guest artist Brennen Leigh.
