Diverse, bold, and unapologetically middle aged, Curtis Brengle and Julie Ragins have set out on a brand new musical journey. With a brand new album in tow, they are on a mission to change the way people think about live music, one living room at a time. After nearly 30 years in Los Angeles touring, recording, and performing with a myriad of household names in the music industry, the piano / vocal couple known as Pear Duo has set out to blaze a new path, this time on the artist side of music. When most people would be thinking of trading in the tour bus for a relaxing front porch, these two decided to start a whole new career. For decades Brengle and Ragins lived in the cut throat scene that is LA music, and thrived. Performing for tens of thousands of people? Check. Private jets and VIP everything? Check check. They lived the dream. But the music industry tends to be a youth driven, vapid wasteland of superficial posturing, and it is a painful place to find yourself on the wrong side of 50. So when an interesting new path presented itself, it made sense to give the dream a revamp. In 2016, while on tour with Justin Hayward (lead singer / guitarist for the Moody Blues) Ragins was given the opportunity to sell her merchandise on his tour, so the couple recorded a little album of covers in their home studio. It really resonated with people, and as fans began to ask where they could see Pear Duo live, the two came up with the idea of performing house concerts. Within the year they had performed 34 concerts and crossed the country twice in their VW sedan, and they were hooked. They recently got back into the studio, this time for themselves, and recorded an album that pulls from their vast breadth of experiences.
