Originally hailing from Ann Arbor Michigan, Jim has played music in one form or another since the age of 15. Great songwriters like James Taylor, John Prine, Stephen Stills, Randy Neuman, etc. have always been Jim’s inspiration.

After moving to Austin in 1980 and playing drums with numerous bands for years I returned to my first love, acoustic guitar, singing and songwriting.

His music is a blend of original compositions with select material from the greatest classic and contemporary singer / songwriters of our time including many local favorites like Joe Ely, Lyle Lovett, Robert Earl Keen,etc.

Jim has had the privilege of opening shows at Austin's legendary One World Theater for Jimmy Webb,The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Ricky Skaggs, Loudon Wainright III, Dave Mason, Bruce Cockburn, Michael Martin Murphy & Jonathan Edwards.
