Swing guitar virtuoso Greg Harkins is from central TX and has lived all over this area. He’s been in Wimberley 3 years now and hopes to stay. He’s played in a few western swing , jazz and country bands over the years. Most notably the Marshall Ford Swing Band, The Jitterbug Vipers and Wayne “ The Train” Hancock band. Greg writes songs and does his own thing for the most part now days. He has studied music with Johnny and Dick Gimble and spent a lot of time under the wing of local legend Slim Richey. Greg plays a blend of country western swing and jazz. Originals to old favorites. Its all fun good tunes none of it boring. He likes to discover great songs that many folks have never heard , so don’t expect any jukebox top 40 stuff. Influences include Bob Wills , Willie Nelson, Merle Haggard, Hank Williams, Duke Ellington, Nat King Cole, Billie Holiday and many many more.
