Culinary Zymurgy Tuesday 27 August 2019 - begins at 6:30 PM

Come see why food and beer make the perfect pairing at this intimate experience that spans the globe.  Come learn more about the world of beer and food.

Working with John Sandersen, MBTX coined the term Culinary Zymurgy. We feel it is the perfect term for pairing food with beer. The actual definition of each word is:

Culinary - having to do with cooking or the kitchen.

Zymurgy - the study or practice of fermentation.

Click here to experience a Culinary Zymurgy event.

Each of the 5 plated courses are paired with a Hand-Crafted Beer selected to enhance the flavors of the meal. All drinks are included in the cost of the meal.

The theme of Culinary Zymurgy number 21 is Vietnamese. Traditional Vietnamese cooking is greatly admired for its fresh ingredients, minimal used of dairy and oil, complementary textures, and reliance on herbs and vegetables.

Although the menu is still being developed, MBTX has the perfect beer for this cuisine. Our crisp clean pale ales are perfect for light vegetables dishes where the spicy herbs dishes pair well with our IPAs.

We will be posting the menu soon.

Hope to see you there!

$65.00 per person

Live Music - Dallas Burrow Friday 30 August 2019

Raised in New Braunfels, the mecca for Texas songwriters, musicians, and music enthusiasts, Dallas was surrounded by the music industry early on. As a teenager, he opted to focus his studies on music, more specifically classical guitar. After graduation – with guitar in tow, he wandered, traveled, toured, and hasn’t looked back since. Over the past 5 years, Dallas has performed in clubs, coffee shops, piazzas throughout Europe, and on street corners and radio stations from the USA to Amsterdam, to Budapest and beyond.

He’s crossed paths and jammed with hundreds of fellow musicians, including memorable sessions with Bob Dylan and Dr. John.

Let’s welcome Dallas back to our small brewpub in the Texas hill-country.

Live Music - Braydon Zink - Sunday 8 September 2019

Based in Austin, Braydon Zink hails from the small town of Iliff, Colorado. While attending college to become a 3rd generation lineman, Zink set his sights on a long brewing craft; a passion for country music. At age 10, he was introduced to the organ by his grandmother and quickly learned to play traditional gospel songs.

Moving to the trumpet, he expanded his skills by learning how to read music. At age 11, with allowance money saved, Zink bought his first guitar. With a good ear and some Elvis Presley and Johnny Cash records from his grandparent's house, Zink taught himself how to play. Sports took the driver's seat during Zink's high school years but he continued to play the guitar during his free time. Zink suffered from severe concussions that kept him from pursuing collegiate sports. But thanks to fate, Zink turned to his guitar; and started singing and writing his own songs.

Things took off from there and soon after Zink started performing all over northeastern Colorado. With a solid loyal following in CO, Zink set his sights on Austin, the "Live Music Capital of the World". For the past 3 years, Zink has now called Texas "home". He has played across the entire state as well as the SW portions of the US, as the opening act for artists like the Jack Ingram, Turnpike Troubadours, Johnny Rodriguez and Hal Ketchum, just to name a few. Zink's music is what Texans would consider down home "real country", combining red dirt, outlaw and a touch of southern rock influences. Zink's music makes you want to two-step across a saw dust dancefloor and his authentic lyrics tug at your heart and touch your soul.

Live Music Frank Iarossi Sunday 11 August 2019

Born in Albany, N.Y., Frank's  father, Frank Sr. worked three jobs, one being a professional alto sax player, so music was a major part of his life from a young age.

Although his Dad played Jazz and Pop, Frank was enammered by The Beatles and Rock'n Roll!   Starting on piano at the age of seven, then guitar at the age of eleven, and adding drums at the age of thirteen.

By the time he was on drums he was into The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, C.C.R., Deep Purple, The Stones, The Who, and Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young.  For some reason Frank was able to sing  with no effort on whatever instrument he was playing which greatly contributed to his songwriting skills.

After graduating High School in the San Fernando Valley, CA., Frank moved to Alaska to work for his uncle delivering heating fuel.  However, in 1974,  Frank began full time music career.

Frank was able to adapt to play many styles from Rock to Country to Jazz which made it easy to find work in Alaska, Canada, and the Lower 48 states.  Frank also worked as a session player and writer in that time frame at Arctic Studios in Anchorage, AK.

In 1975 Country Entertainer Jack Reeves recorded three of Frank's original songs (co-written with Terry Lee Hardesty) on his album Wabash Cannonball.  The album also featured the Palimino House Band (JD Maness, John Hobbs, Curtis Stone, Archie Francis) on backing tracks .

In 1982 Frank  co-wrote and recorded an album with Alaska's premiere Rock band Tytus Canby, but the album was never released.   In 1992 Frank wrote and  recorded the album Wildfire/Surviving and Thriving with along with his best friend and fabulous musician/singer/songwriter Harlan Gamble.

In 1994 Frank recorded the first of three solo albums, The Word Is Love.  In 2005 he recorded Where Are You Now?, and in 2012 he recorded A New Day.  Frank's  songs have been played on several radio stations including KYAK 107.5 and KNBC 90.3 in Alaska, and on Sun Radio 100.1 Austin, TX.

Frank continues to write, record, and perform at many places around the South Central Texas area.
